Julia Bruskin and Aaron Wunsch are partners in life and partners in music. In addition to individually having active worldwide solo recital, chamber music and orchestral performance careers, they frequently perform duo recitals. Their life partnership is facilitated by having a joint base in New York, Mr. Wunsch as a faculty member at the Juilliard School and Ms. Bruskin as a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

About Julia Bruskin

Since her concerto debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age 17, Julia Bruskin has established herself as one of the premier cellists of her generation. Her recent CD of music by Beethoven, Brahms and Dohnanyi was praised by Fanfare Magazine for its “exquisite beauty of sound and expression.” A founding member of the critically acclaimed Claremont Trio, Ms. Bruskin won 1st prize in the 2001 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and was awarded the first ever Kalichestein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award. The Claremont Trio tours extensively, including concerts this year for the Library of Congress, New York’s Lincoln Center and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. A frequent guest at summer music festivals, Ms. Bruskin has performed at La Jolla Summerfest, Mostly Mozart, Caramoor, Saratoga, Bard and Norfolk, and has toured with the Musicians from Ravinia.

About Aaron Wunsch

Praised for his bold interpretations and communicative sensitivity, pianist Aaron Wunsch appears regularly on concert stages throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has performed in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and Duke’s Hall in London, and at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. A ten-city solo recital tour of China garnered critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience responses. Lauded for his “masterful” chamber music performances (Hartford Courant), he has appeared at the Norfolk, Bowdoin, Sarasota and Great Lakes chamber music festivals, collaborating in performance with cellist Lynn Harrell, clarinetist Charles Neidich, and the New York Woodwind Quintet. Mr. Wunsch studied at Yale University (B.A., cum laude), the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Fulbright Fellowship) and the Juilliard School (M.M. and D.M.A.). Mr. Wunsch is currently a full-time faculty member at the Juilliard School. He regularly gives master classes and lectures at conservatories and universities throughout Asia, and he was 2010 Visiting Professor at Shanghai Normal University. He is Artistic Director of the acclaimed Music Mondays concert series in New York City and co-Artistic Director with his wife, Julia Bruskin, of the Skanteateles Festival in the Finger Lakes.
